1. Who we are

EatWisely ("we", "us") is an AI-assisted nutrition application that helps people explore food-first approaches to chronic conditions. You can contact us at healwiseapp@gmail.com.

2. What we collect

  • Account data: your name and email address when you sign up (including via Google).
  • Health information you provide: conditions, symptoms, dietary preferences, meal logs, and how you feel after meals.
  • Usage data: pages viewed, features used, approximate location derived from IP, device and browser type.

3. How we use it

  • To generate and adapt your personalised meal plans.
  • To operate, secure, and improve the service.
  • To contact you about your account or important service updates.

We do not sell your personal or health data. We do not use your health data for advertising.

4. AI processing

To generate meal plans and coach responses, the information you provide is sent to trusted AI model providers (via the Lovable AI Gateway). These providers process your data solely to return a response and do not use it to train their models.

5. Where your data is stored

Data is stored on secure infrastructure provided by our hosting and database partners (Lovable Cloud / Supabase), with encryption in transit and at rest. Access is restricted through row-level security so only you can read your own health data.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data at any time. Email healwiseapp@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the EU/UK, you can also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. Cookies

We use only essential cookies required to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

8. Children

Children under 16 cannot create their own EatWisely account. A parent or legal guardian may add child profiles inside their own account to build meal plans for a minor. In that case the parent is the data controller for the child's information, consents on the child's behalf, and can view, edit or permanently delete every child profile and growth entry at any time.

For children we never generate adult-style calorie-deficit plans. Growth is tracked using the Dutch approach — the growth curve trajectory and the mid-parental target height. EatWisely does not diagnose; concerning trajectories are routed to a pediatrician or consultatiebureau.

9. Medical disclaimer

EatWisely provides educational information based on published research. It is not a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment. Always discuss significant changes with your doctor.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new "last updated" date.
